Economic and Social Councils in Model UN refer to more technical, creative, or specialized committees, and students may represent countries or characters. These committees are often smaller than GAs but require a more advanced understanding of Model UN and will often have modified rules of procedure.

Crisis committees are high-intensity, real-time simulations of major events, battles, or fictional events. Crisis committees reflect both the fast-paced nature of emergencies whilst providing a unique “backroom” mechanic to allow students to interact with characters not present in the committee. They require a refined understanding of Model UN and follow their own rules of procedure.
