Tournament of Champions at HarvardMUN Canada
The Tournament of Champions holds the highest academic standard on the Canadian circuit. They follow HarvardMUN Canada’s ToC Rules of Procedure, a living document that aims to improve Model United Nations formats by serving as the forefront of circuit standards. Discourse centres on substance and policy, grounded in research. Delegates are expected to command their topic and their country’s position expertly. Directors from Harvard and from universities across Canada guide each committee, setting its academic direction and holding debate to that standard throughout the conference.
The Canadian Tournament of Champions comprises four committees at HarvardMUN Canada: one General Assembly, one Economic and Social Council, one Specialized Agency, and one Crisis Committee. You can find the committees on the committees page. The ToC General Assembly committee will run as a double-delegation committee, with 100 teams.
Delegate Resources (coming soon)
The resources below set the standard for all Tournament of Champions committees, including the Championship Rules of Procedure and supporting guides for national-level delegate preparation. These standards also apply to the qualifier circuit: every designated qualifier committee must operate under the same championship ruleset, ensuring procedural consistency from a delegate’s first qualifier to the Tournament of Champions itself. Review of the Championship Rules of Procedure is mandatory for all ToC delegates. As the Rules of Procedure may be amended ahead of the conference, delegates are advised to consult this page periodically for the most recent version.
