Westin Harbour Castle

Toronto, Ontario

HarvardMUN Canada is excited to be hosted at the gorgeous Westin Harbour Castle hotel, located right on Toronto’s harbourfront, and only minutes away from the CN Tower, Union Station, Scotiabank Area, Rogers Center, and the Exhibition Place. Atop the Westin is Don Alfonso, a rotating, Michelin-starred restaurant, and nearby, a wide variety of affordable and accessible eateries.

This 4-star waterfront hotel can accommodate over 1000 delegates in committee, and the Westin will have hundreds of rooms available for delegates, faculty advisors, and staff. Be prepared to engage in fruitful debate while overlooking Lake Ontario (in select committees), and decompress after committee session in the scenic Harbour Square Park (located right beside the hotel).

Faculty advisors can rest easy throughout the weekend in the Anishinaabe Suite which will serve as our faculty advisor lounge, and teachers will have access to a dedicated rest-area if they are commuting into the conference each day.

Arriving at Westin Harbour Castle

  • Pearson is the largest airport in the Toronto area and handles the majority of both national international flights into the city. However, Pearson is located a distance away from Westin Harbour Castle, and therefore you or your delegation must have a planned means of transportation between the airport and the conference venue. If you are an international delegation, you may have a wider range of options flying into Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). In either case, verify that you are planning your trip around the correct airport.

Pearson to Westin Harbour via Taxi or Rideshare
Pearson Airport offers an integrated, fixed rate taxi service.
    Additional Information: https://www.torontopearson.com/en/transportation-and-parking/taxis-and-limos

Be advised that other forms of rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.) can be found in these areas as well. However, we strongly recommend against using both taxis and rideshare without the supervision of a trusted faculty advisor or designated supervisor.

Pearson to Westin Harbour via Union-Pearson (UP) Express

Union-Pearson Express is a singular train line that connects Pearson Airport and Union Station (in Downtown Toronto) with limited stops. The train platform is located in Terminal 1, and is upon an elevated platform that can only be accessed from the inside of the airport. From Union Station, the Westin Harbour Castle is within walking distance.

Tickets for the UP Express can be purchased both online and in-person. To purchase tickets online please visit this site. In person tickets can be acquired at kiosks along the train platform. However, you may also board the UP express by tapping on with a presto card (Ontario transit card) or a credit/debit card

Cost: ~$12.35 CAD per student (ONE WAY)
    Trip Duration: ~28 minutes
Note that trains do not run between 12:00 am (00h00) and 6:00am (06h00)

*Please note that there is a stop along the line named “Weston”. To avoid any confusion, this is not the correct stop for arrivals to the Westin Harbour Castle hotel (the conference venue).

  • Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)

Billy Bishop airport handles a relatively small number of flights, the majority of which are national. There are, however, a select few flights from US cities that enter Billy Bishop Airport. If you are an international delegation, you may have a wider range of options flying into Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). In either case, verify that you are planning your trip around the correct airport.

    Air Canada Shuttle

Air Canada offers a complimentary (free) shuttle between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The platform to board at Billy Bishop Airport is located on the mainland in front of the Main Terminal/Passenger Tunnel Access Building. Downtown, the shuttle will drop you off across from Union Station, to the west of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

    Frequency: 25 minutes between shuttles
    Trip Duration: ~18 minutesCost: Free

  • Transportation within the City

It is suggested, especially with a larger delegation, to have a preplanned means of transit between the airport and the conference venue. Furthermore, due to the potential for unforeseen closures, delays or cancellations, we strongly recommend planning multiple different methods of transit, including as well a time buffer.

    Union Station

Union Station is an incredibly complex transit hub, and is the core of the Toronto public transit network. Both the Union-Pearson Express and the Air Canada Shuttle lead directly to Union Station. VIA Rail trains to Toronto will also run through Union Station. As a general rule, it is easier to navigate to the Westin Harbour Castle by leaving the station through your nearest available exit, and walking along the streets. Union Station is around 750 meters (11 minutes) away from the Westin Harbour Castle.

Please be advised: Union station and the surrounding areas are not always patrolled by security, crowds and foot traffic can be overwhelming.
