HarvardMUN Canada: Featuring Canada’s First Tournament of Champions for Model UN
A Truly National Championship for Model UN
For the first time ever, HarvardMUN Canada will host the Canadian Tournament of Champions: three elite committees that will see the most competitive, academically rigorous, and intellectually-stimulating days of debate as delegates vie for the inaugural 2026 Canadian Championship Titles. To participate in the Tournament of Champions committees, delegates either have to win Best Delegate at a qualifier, or be selected through an extremely competitive application process (if there is no qualifier in their province or territory).
For delegates, HarvardMUN Canada’s Tournament of Champions represents the pinnacle of Model UN: drawing up real-world solutions that produce tangible impacts, engaging in multi-lateral discussions which require diplomatic and political skills, all whilst fighting to represent your delegation at the highest levels of Model UN. The winners of each year’s Tournament of Champions will have their names and photos forever cemented in the Hall of Fame as a Champion, and will receive an exclusive prize only a few will ever acquire.
For conferences, becoming a qualifier for the Tournament of Champions will enable access to support and resources from HarvardMUN Canada to implement strict, academically-strong rules of procedure, create innovative and engaging committees, and draw in more delegates. A HarvardMUN Canada staff member or representative will occasionally audit qualifiers to ensure that the HarvardMUN Championship Ruleset is being implemented, to uphold and certify the quality of local qualifiers. Not only will the Tournament of Champions help build a stronger Model UN circuit for all, but it will recognise top talent and help nurture the community in a way that has never been done before.

Why a National Tournament of Champions?
At HarvardMUN Canada, we value academic excellence, fostering a competitive spirit, and engaging delegates from across the globe in cross-cultural and innovate dialogue to nurture the future generation of leaders and thinkers. We believe that Canada’s best delegates deserved a truly global competition that did not yet exist to prove their skills and gain recognition for their hard work, political savviness, and diplomatic abilities by competing against like-minded peers. Not only does the Tournament of Champions provide such delegates a national stage to demonstrate their abilities, the Tournament of Champions will feature experts as honorary chairs to provide delegates with real-time feedback and engagement opportunities beyond Model UN.
