Canada’s National Model United Nations Championship
A Truly National Championship For MUN
HarvardMUN Canada is proud to announce the return of the Canadian Tournament of Champions for its second iteration, with new amendments and innovations designed to deepen academic rigor and foster engaging debate. This year, the Tournament of Champions will feature four elite committees—one general assembly, one economic and social council, one specialized agency, and one crisis. These will see the most competitive, intellectually stimulating days of debate as delegates vie for the 2027 Canadian Championship Titles. To participate in the Tournament of Champions committees, delegates must either win a qualifying award by attending qualifier conferences across the country or be selected through an extremely competitive application process.
For delegates, HarvardMUN Canada’s Tournament of Champions represents the pinnacle of Model UN: drafting real-world solutions that produce tangible impacts, engaging in multilateral discussions that require diplomatic and political skills, all while fighting to represent your delegation at the highest levels of Model UN. The winners of each year’s Tournament of Champions will have their names and photos cemented in the Hall of Fame as Champions.
For conferences, becoming a qualifier for the Tournament of Champions will provide access to support and resources from HarvardMUN Canada to implement strict, academically strong rules of procedure, create innovative and engaging committees, and attract more delegates. A Tournament of Champions Ambassador representing their province will audit qualifiers to ensure the HarvardMUN Championship Ruleset is implemented, upholding and certifying the quality of local qualifiers. The Tournament of Champions will not only build a stronger Model UN circuit for all, but also recognize top talent and nurture the community in a way never done before.

At HarvardMUN Canada, we value academic excellence, foster a competitive spirit, and bring delegates from across the globe together for cross-cultural, innovative dialogue to nurture the next generation of leaders and thinkers. We believe that Canada’s best delegates deserve a truly global competition that did not yet exist to prove their skills and gain recognition for their hard work, political savviness, and diplomatic abilities by competing against like-minded peers. The Tournament of Champions not only gives delegates a national stage to demonstrate their abilities, but it will also feature experts as honorary chairs to provide real-time feedback and engagement opportunities beyond Model UN.

National Representation
The Tournament of Champions welcomed delegates from around Canada: British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and beyond. In provinces with no qualifiers, we give applicants advance consideration via our underrepresented provinces and territories program.
Our Championship Qualifiers
HMUN Canada is excited to announce the renewal of our partnerships with CAHSMUN and UTMUN as West and East Coast qualifiers. With a combined 2400 delegates, these conferences represent the Tournament of Champions across Canada.
Our Partners
The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) of HMUN Canada 2026 partnered with the Conference of Defence Associations Institute (CDA Institute). Our national champions joined the CDA Institute for a summer internship.
TOC 2026 In Numbers
The first iteration of HarvardMUN Canada’s Tournament of Champions brought together delegates from coast to coast, united domestic and international champions, and brought academically rigorous debate to committee sessions. Tournament of Champions committees welcomed delegates from the West Coast, Central Canada and the Maritimes, as well as international delegates from 5 different continents, including typically underrepresented delegations from Uganda, Pakistan, the Philippines, and more.
The Canadian Champions of our DISEC Tournament of Champions committee were awarded a summer internship with the Conference of Defence Associations Institute, the first-ever internship offered to high school students by this prestigious national defence organization. We are excited to offer students more opportunities like this in our upcoming Tournament of Champions program.
We are excited to build on our previous TOC experience and continue this Tournament of Champions tradition in our second iteration, with four TOC committees, increased high-level opportunities, top-tier debate, and expert Honorary Chairs. Join us in Toronto as Canada’s strongest delegates come together to debate the world’s most pressing topics at the highest level of high school Model United Nations.
