Anti-Cheating & Collusion

In addition to rigorously training staff on spotting and dealing with policy violations, HarvardMUN Canada will keep extensive track of how working papers/resolutions are being drafted to avoid plagiarism. Finally, HarvardMUN Canada will provide extensive clarity around what is and is not considered pre-writing, and all faculty advisors will be provided with clear instructions to ensure their delegations remain compliant.

Enforcing Foreign Policy

HarvardMUN Canada will be rewarding delegates who have complete mastery over their ability to maintain their delegation’s foreign policy stance, whilst innovating on matters of substance and engaging with other delegates to develop viable multi-lateral solutions. We’re looking for delegates who are responsive, tactical, passionate, and well-read. It’s the balance and mastery of all these characteristics that we value the most in our delegates.

Academic Rigour & Competition

One of the key pillars of HarvardMUN Canada’s values involve striking a balance between academic rigour, competitive debate, and style. We believe that Model UN’s full value is only realized when delegates are fully involved in discussion, and we don’t believe that’s possible without all three of these characteristics. A mastery in all three skills is what HarvardMUN Canada values most.

Conference Features

Midnight Crisis

Just shortly before midnight, HarvardMUN Canada is offering delegates the choice to join in the midnight crisis — an exciting, unexpected, and fun committee that will bring delegates together as, under suspicious circumstances, a crisis has unfolded and requires immediate attention. Please note that the midnight crisis option will only be available for delegates who stay overnight at the venue for safety purposes.

Delegate Gala & Salsa

Before the last day of the conference, delegates will celebrate their achievements and progress through a conference-wide delegate social: fully complete with a formal gala that will be offering salsa lessons, a dance floor to dance the night away, and both competitive and collaborative party games to relax after days of hard work solving some of the world’s most pressing issues. Financial Aid

Model UN for All

HarvardMUN Canada believes that no student should be denied the opportunity to compete in Model UN for financial reasons. That is why, in addition to the extensive subsidies provided by the LinkedKey Foundation, HarvardMUN Canada will be free for all students whose family income is below the Canadian Low-Income Cut-Off Line.

If your family income is just slightly above the Low-Income Cut-Off line, HarvardMUN Canada will work with you to ensure that a portion of your registration fees will be covered.

Our conference offers the most broad financial aid policy of any major conference in North America, and it’s one of the many ways in which we are leading the way in making Model UN a fairer and more equitable activity. If you are eligible for financial aid, please apply below.
