THE FATE OF THE IMPERIUM
DUNE
It is said that all Men desire power, and the great house of Corrino knows this well. For 10,000 years the Padishah Emperors have sat on the Golden Lion Throne. It is a simple throne, made out of one piece of quartz. The Emperor of the Known Universeneed not impress anyone; his reputation precedes him. Yet all rocks first lose their lustre, decay, and then fall into dust and ash. Thus is the inevitable fate of all rocks: great and mighty, small and weak, old and decrepit. The Padishah Emperors know this all too well; the board is set, and the pieces are moving. For house Corrino is dying, and with it, the fate of the empire.
HarvardMUN Canada seeks to run Dune, a leading work of political fantasy. Being a work in scope only rivaled by the greatest of Tolkienian fantasy, Dune provides a deep and comprehensive world for delegates to debate in and explore. At HarvardMUN Canada, Dune will be given the dignity and respect it deserves. For delegates, beware: at HarvardMUN Canada, Dune will not be a committee for those weak in heart or reckless in temperament; rather, it will reward delegates who scheme, build alliances, and plan ahead of time.
So delegates, prepare. Prepare for the most realistic simulation of Franklin Herbert’s work that brings the innovation, wisdom, and experience of HarvardMUN to Canada’s fantasy crisis circuit.
