“Are you Google? Because I’ve been searching for you”, romance spreads through conferences as roses are delivered.

As summer arrives at the International Communication Union(ITU) conference in Toronto, May 29th, 2026, roses are delivered throughout the conference. In the ITU, currently in committee session two, two roses were delivered. One for a delegate, and one for a chair.

Saomai Nguyen, one of the chairs, has received a beautiful rose from an anonymous individual. The anonymous individual has sent a rose with a loving message, ”Are you Google? Because I’ve been searching for you”. “I am very grateful, … appreciate the thought” said Saomai after receiving the message with the rose.

The delegate of Qatar also received an amazing rose, filled with words of encouragement. “I am very thankful for the rose,… thank you so much” said the delegate of Qatar. As more and more delegates are receiving roses from anonymous individuals, the scandals get bigger and bigger.

The ITU committee was tense due to the ongoing debate and opposing resolution papers. However, thanks to the anonymous messengers, the delegates were able to take a breath and laugh over a humorous yet emotional event.
