Canadian Tournament of Champions
QUALIFIERS
Canadian Tournament of Champions System
The Canadian Tournament of Champions comprises of three committees at HarvardMUN Canada, one General Assembly (DISEC), one Economic and Social Council (IMF), and one Crisis (The Gulf War) committee. The CTOC committees at HarvardMUN Canada can be found on the committees page. The TOC General Assembly committee will run as a double-delegation committee, with 100 teams.
Each year, four delegates will be crowned Canadian Model United Nations Champions. The Champions must be Canadian delegates, defined as delegates whose primary day-school is located in Canada. The Champions will be forever commemorated in the Hall of Fame, alongside the conference from which they qualified. In addition to the Champions, international delegates will be awarded a separate Best International Delegate award.
To qualify for the Tournament of Champions, delegates must win a qualifying award at a local, regional, or Championship Qualifier. These qualifiers are listed below, and new qualifiers may be added each week as conferences join the Tournament of Champions system. Check back on this page or through the HarvardMUN Canada Instagram for updates.
Becoming a Qualifer for Canada’s Tournament of Champions
FOR CONFERENCES
For conferences looking to become qualifiers for Canada’s Tournament of Champions, there are two primary types of conferences: regional and local qualifiers. Regional qualifiers have >300 registered delegates, and local qualifiers have <299 registered delegates.
Conferences who wish to have their committees become qualifiers for Canada’s Tournament of Champions will be required to submit an application through the form below. HarvardMUN Canada will then reach out to successful applicants and discuss next steps. HarvardMUN Canada will also offer in-depth training sessions and seminars to prepare & help qualifying conferences.
Qualifiers will be required to follow HarvardMUN Canada’s Championship Ruleset, which can be found on the right. Delegates who receive a qualifying award at these qualifiers will be allocated a single seat at Canada’s Tournament of Champions. We look forward to working with conferences across Canada to build the 2027 Canadian Model UN championship!
